Fast to float

Fast to float

A Poem by Caddie O'brien
"

A poem loosely about anorexia

"

I can fast and purge all of the bad
And keep from feeling weighted down
It will feel so good to be weightless
Floating above all the mere mortals
Delicate; aimlessly moving with the wind
No direction of my own needed
A feeling of existence yet control
Freedom from human needs
Until my balloon self bursts
And I plummet to the ground
To be trampled by the mere mortals I once mocked
Floating high, high above
