I Wish

I Wish

A Poem by cad

I wish I could remember

The exact length of your eyelashes,

Or the angle at which your hair

Curves when you wake up

Next to me,

Or figure out the equation of your smile.

I wish I could remember

The feel of your skin against mine

Or the smell of your breath in my mouth,

The taste of your lips.

I wish I could remember

The resonance of your voice,

The look in your eyes when you’re in my arms,

The rhythm of your heartbeat.

But I can’t.

Instead my stomach implodes,

My heart explodes,

When I’m with you

And my memory is no longer needed.

I like this has alot of emotion in it.

Memory is different from the here and now and plays such tricks as this - something worth expressing and you express it well.
