My Name Is--

My Name Is--

A Poem by Colleen Ann
"

Inspired by observations made on campus.

"

Ok so today I noticed something.
A small, simple observation.
Through my foggy grey lenses.
A general consensus
of direct interaction
with the most unique.
Pixilated prettiness.
Lethargic loneliness:
all the same (sanity).
This I have seen,
perched in my safe-spot,
spewing s**t
lodged in the spaces between my teeth.
Some are lovely
(most are not).
It was then I thought-
of a perfect manipulation-
a sort of soul excavation.
This I wish:
would I had no name,
a featureless face,
for my mask matches me
with all that is.
Simulated pronounced objects
Puffy-chested proudness:
it makes them unreal,
unable to feel.
A copy of a copy (noted)
Tis what’s in a name.
