Ode To Oak

Ode To Oak

A Poem by Marina
"

Title says it all, man.

"
Your shadows hit my wall at night
And eats my fears away.
You make me feel so safe and right,
as you whistle sweet songs to me everyday.

You are the reason for my happiness,
Most people would laugh at me.
But I don't care, I'll scoff at them,
and sit under my favorite Oak Tree.

You shade me from the bright sunlight,
And protect me from the pouring rain.
And tell me stories of your past.
You protect me from my pains.

I love that old Oak Tree,
Sitting in my front yard.
That shades me from all thats sad.
And stands so high and brave--so tall.

The one that answers all my questions,
and let's me sleep in his arms.
A tree more clever than a person,
Most beautiful of all.

Your shadows hit my wall at night,
As you whistle the sweetest goodnights,
and provide for me a comfortable seat,
As you show me all thats right.

I love how you embrace the sun, the fog, the rain, and sleet.
and you keep the bad away,
The most perfectly shaped, it amazes me.

I love how your higher than the sky,
And brighter than the sun.
So nice, so strong, so beautiful.
My favorite old Oak Tree.

Author's Note

Marina
Improv.

This one, I think, is the most simplist of all the poems i've written.
=D
I wrote an ode about crayons, but I can't find it.
Soon as I do, I'll post.

Loveyou!

Your connection to nature is not found so clearly stated elsewhere and I truly
applaud it as I climb the oak.
Thank you for taking me there again.

I like this one! But then I do like big old trees so maybe im biased :)
Nice to hear a tree described as intelligent, I often wonder if they are!

Oh dear, that was wonderful. I had an old maple tree in my back yard and in its brances I spoke of my hopes and dreams. Loved this, thanks for sharing. So well written too.
