Where are you?

Where are you?

A Poem by A.Lee

I need you

Where are you?

Your footprints lay in my memory

You touched me

You loved me

Then flew away with the midnight breeze

Oh where are you…

Where are you?

I feel your arms around my neck

I heard you whisper for a drink

“Pretty please?”

Your little smile

The dishes clattered in the sink

Look up again and now you’re gone

I’m fighting back the tears again

Your memories

They’re haunting me

Force open wounds, consuming pain

I need you

Where are you?

Your footprints lay in my memory

You touched me

You loved me

Then flew away with the midnight breeze

Oh where are you…

Where are you?

Although I know you’ve gone away

I feel your presence in the air

I hear your voice

I feel your warmth

But when I look you’re never there

You’re sleeping now, you won’t wake up

And left me here, so lost without you

Rivers of tears

Your vivid dreams

And I don’t want to live without you

I need you

Where are you?

Your footprints lay in my memory

You touched me

You loved me

Then flew away with the midnight breeze

Oh where are you…

Where are you?

I am so dreadfully sorry for your loss. A mother should never, ever lose their child. I can imagine that the grief would be so powerful that a part of you would always feel empty and cold. This poem is so touching and communicates your pain so eloquently. You are very talented to be so artful whilst in so much pain.

Such a strong heart wrenching love here, a mothers love is but the most impossible to break so pure and clear of selfish aims.
Another display of pure literature talent mixed in with an emotion recapped... lovely write

This breaks my heart. The emotions, the desperation, the almost physical pain peels off the screen in this write. I actually have tears. Beautiful poem.

So very sad. It feels like they're still out there in the world, if only you could find them or in my case, if only she'd call and tell me where she is. It hurts so very very bad. An unhealing wound.

Through writing we find healing little bits at a time. This is beautiful.
