Little SisterA Poem by A.LeeOh please hurry over, brother Little sister's lost her mind Scattered papers line the floor Her eyes, once lively, now stare blind
Oh please hurry over, sister Little sister's fading fast Her hands are frozen; she won't speak Except the words "You're here at last."
We should have never left here lonely Should have heeded what she said But we believed that we knew best Now little sister's nearly dead
We forgot to show her love Although we told her she deserved it We thought those words would be enough But we forgot to reinforce it
Empty bottles, pills long gone On repeat, her favorite song A message for the ones who found her "Now you notice, Little Sister."
Close the coffin slowly, brother Sister, lay the rose with care Little sister now lies sleeping All because we were not there... © 2011 A.LeeAuthor's Note
