Hey YouA Poem by A.LeeHey you With your strong arms wrapped round me so tight You who would hold me through my darkest nights The one with the smile that melted my heart Who’s embrace could keep me from falling apart
Hey you The protector of those who are weak You whose warm hands helped back to my feet You could capture my heart with the kind things you said And the way that you kept me from bleeding bright red
Hey you Who would dance through the most random places You whose light shone in the darkest of spaces The person I would have done anything for The one who I couldn’t have helped but adore
Hey you With the beautiful eyes staring through me You who once said that you would always love me The one who I knew I could always draw close to When breaking apart seemed to be all I could do
Hey you Who I had to push gently away Because things went crazy and I was afraid You who held my hand to the very last moment When the remedies we had been trying were spent
Hey you Who I’m trying so hard to get back to But the curtain stays closed so that I just can’t get through And it probably seems like I’m not even trying But it’s only for your sweet attention I’m vying
Hey you Who I see in the back of my mind Who’s shadow keeps haunting me all of the time You with the heart made of gold that I sought The one who I left but I never forgot © 2011 A.LeeReviews
