Sweet Allure

Sweet Allure

A Poem by A.Lee

Hush now, darling's sleeping
Lifeless face turned toward the sky
Folded hands rest on her bosom
Kiss her cheek now, don't you cry

She's finally gained the peace she yearned for
Through the sweet allure of death
No haunting feelings, good or bad
Since she let out her final breath

No more will sadness frame her face
No more scars will line her wrist
She's done with the artificial smiles
No longer fighting to coexist

She realized joy was not for her
The darkness kept it far at bay
She knew she'd never be enough
And so she took herself away

So hush now, darling's sleeping
Lifeless face turned toward the sky
Folded hands rest on her bosom
Say goodbye now, don't you cry

your poem paints death as somewhat a hero, rescuing the poor soul...I think it's well written.

It seems like she found her love and joy in death itself. The expression is one of relief that she is free, underlined with a tone of sadness. This piece was beautiful, the flow was lovely, your story came across to the reader strongly and well. Great work:)

To see the soul at peace is necessary for closure but never easy!

Its a relief to see this poor soul resting in peace, but it is a tragic loss.
The beauty that has gone idle will always remain, but will not be there
to shine brightly for the world that needs it most.

Beautiful story...but it hurts.

I so loved these words here, I thought this was wonderfully written.
I don't have any critism. Flows smmoth and the rhyme is right on spot.
