I Wish

I wish that I could see the bright side
Of all the dark and gloomy days
So I could chase away the storm clouds
And no longer be afraid

I wish that I could scale the mountains
That they said I'd never climb
So I could prove them wrong for once
And think that maybe I'm alright

I wish that I could reach the heavens
And capture starlight in a jar
So I could light the world around me
And have a chance to flee the dark

I wish that I could stand up tall
And conquer all my fear and doubt
For once believing that I'm worth it
Instead of pushing myself out

I wish that I could love myself
As much as some have said I ought
Instead of hiding in the shadows
I'd become what I am not

Each of us must find our purpose and strength. Took me 31 years and three dead brothers for me to know the right and wrong of life. I can feel the desire to understand life and place to be. Sometime the shadows may overtake us. But we must grasp at the opening and run for a opening and find our true purpose in a life. A outstanding poem. Thank you.
