ImprisonedA Poem by A.LeeSo lost, so hopeless, and so alone The bright world hid beneath a veil Fingers spread wide never feel a
thing Unable to find her way in a foreign land Spinning in circles, blind and naked Confusing an already fading mind Rendered helpless, she collapsed in
the dust Head spinning, breath stolen, heart
racing Noises rushing past her ears “Spin me ‘round again, my love” She plunges into the deep Told countless times she’ll never
win She finally accepts the fact Hiding desires to throw off the
blindfold Lost in the dark, too scared to see A savior standing at the window Calls her name from time to time Warm hands reach to break her chains The step towards peace, afraid to
take So hopeless, so lost, and so alone She hides the world behind its veil Imprisoned in a mind long lost Afraid the light will be her snare © 2010 A.LeeAuthor's Note
