Return My Heart?

Return My Heart?

A Poem by A.Lee

When are you going to let go

Of the grasp you have on me?

YOU turned and walked away

And I’m the one that’s left in pieces

I see you everywhere I go

You’re in my home and on the street

You scarred my soul with retracted love

And you refuse to let me be

I’m so sick of being anguished

Of seeing YOU when I close my eyes

Every time your name pops up

I just break down and start to cry

I want to find out how you’re doing

But I’m scared you’re so far gone

That you’ve forgotten your little sister

Who’s just barely holding on

I really wish you knew how much

It hurt me to see you tear us apart

But if you just cannot come back

Can you at least return my heart?

Very powerful write. Another thing I like about you is that you greatly utilize your surroundings and they greatly add to the emphasis and quality of the poem. This is why sometimes it is best to write when we're feeling a certain why. I'm not saying youre the only poet that does this, ive seen others on here that do it, but theres something about the way you do it, that is extroidinary. I have a very good feeling about you Angela.

Absolutely breathtaking, once again. Although this is about you sister, I think everyone was relate with any significant other. I know I sure can. I really don't even have words to describe how much I enjoyed reading this. Truly amazing.

Full of hurt, pain and confusion. Why do some siblings just go away and never talk to you again? I don't know. It just seems they do and they have their own reasons that only makes sense to them which leaves the abandoned sibling hurt and wondering why. You did a really nice job on this, I think.

This is a sad story, but your loyalty and unconditional love are stunning.
Love such as this can generate a spark on the other side of the ocean.
There is a possibility that things may never come back together, but the
passion in your words has convinced me otherwise. It takes a lot of courage
to open up like this. I admire your strength.

Sometime we lose more then we can win. A sister need a good friend to hold her up. A very strong poem with a sad story. I like the last line.

A wonderful write. Emotional rants are sometimes the hardest to make work. You don't seem to have a problem with it though. Keep on writing!
