A Poem by A.Lee
"

for my dear sister...

"

Those days are far behind us now

The days of me and you

When I cried upon your shoulder

You said you’d keep me from feeling blue

And every day you were here, you did

Filled my days with laughter and love

My better, stronger half you were

We just fit   like a hand in a glove

You took the lead and pulled me along

When my feet dragged in the dirt

We’d sit and chat till the sun would set

Love built like this could never hurt

I came to you with everything

My heart and soul worn on my sleeve

But when I faced my greatest trial

You felt it best for you to leave

Tears sting my eyes as I write these words

My heart aches for you so

I think about you every day

How much you’ll never know

I don’t know where you are these days

You choose not to come near

But my love for you has never waned

And I wish that you were here

Nothing much to say. Try not to be too harsh, this really did come from the bottom of my heart... I know she'll never read it, but I just had to express what was consuming me.

Sometimes you don't know how great something was until it's was gone. Maybe one day she ll see this and you both will talk and come to some conclusion or beginning.

It is very great poem, you should show this poem to your sister.. I read ur note saying that she will never read it.. try.. who knows .. she may read it. It is very deep poem, I felt it.. and it will be more deeper for your sister when she reads it. Well done.

Expression is always something useful and helpful to us, especially if we cannot talk to the person at whom the emotions are directed.

The beginning of this poem really called out to me--I can relate wonderfully, because one of my sisters is also one of my best friends, but I am not particularly close to either of my other siblings.

I am sorry about the gap between your sister and yourself, but I hope you are able to make up with her soon. This piece was very honest, and true, and therefore a pleasure to read, although sad. Powerful work.

There is something very gentle about this...probably cause it is a theme close to your heart....yet you have a control over the flow of your feelings and are able to direct them effectively on paper.

Cattie,
good poem, well put together and symbolicly phrazed. I had a kid brother once and I lost him, confounded Gulf War anyway. Don't give up on your sister just because you had a tiff. I held a grudge against my dad for years, and that served me nothing at all. If it's her grudge, have patience.
Thanks for sharing, beautiful. BZ

This was...heartbreaking, yet warm...In a way it reminded me of death, but still there is the faith of clinging hope. Beautiful.
