Goodnight Love

You can close your eyes now, love
It's okay to fall asleep
There's no monster in your closet
You can safely count your sheep

I'll be right here to protect you
Shooing nightmares with a broom
I'll make sure that nothing haunts you
As I stand guard in your room

I'll place a light beside your bed
So you can see I'm by your side
Nothing bad will ever hurt you
Close your eyes now, love.  Goodnight.

This a very sweet "lullaby-style" poem and well written. Children have so many fears of the dark, even before they start to school; I wonder where they get them?
