Goodnight Love

Goodnight Love

A Poem by A.Lee

You can close your eyes now, love
It's okay to fall asleep
There's no monster in your closet
You can safely count your sheep

I'll be right here to protect you
Shooing nightmares with a broom
I'll make sure that nothing haunts you
As I stand guard in your room

I'll place a light beside your bed
So you can see I'm by your side
Nothing bad will ever hurt you
Close your eyes now, love.  Goodnight.

What a beautiful piece. Your son's very lucky to have a mom who loves him so much. Very well done.

A beautiful poem. I understand the poem. I done in with my children and read them a bed time story. They are young for a short time. We need to cherish the good times. A excellent poem.

This is simple, sweet, and oh so wonderful. I loved it.
Perfect rhythm and flow, and fantastically cute.

Great job. :)

I like this. Checking behind the doors and under the bed. All those scary places I remember from childhood.

This has such a simple loveliness that it almost feels tragic. It makes me think about how my mother would have once thought the very same sentiments of me when i was a small boy - and the fact that you grow up to realise you will not always be protected so closely -if at all- makes this thought somehow disturbing.
But then that is my mind, and as a straight-forward 'sweet dreams' wish to a cherished child, this is charming...

oooooooooo.....you know i'm a sucka for that. That was beautiful girly, nice and soft and fluffy and secure just like a good night poem should be.

Cute! I liked this a lot. There was a tranquility and genuineness about this that I really liked, and which certainly emphasised the purpose of this write. This poem made me smile all the way through, and I absolutely adored the line about 'Shooing nightmares with a broom'. Haha, I could read over this a million times. :D
