Inside Your Prison

Inside Your Prison

A Poem by A.Lee

She thought she’d gotten over this

Erased all her self-doubt

But then you came along

And with your words you broke her down

She believed you when you said

That you’d be there no matter what

What she didn’t know was that

You’d be there punching her in the gut

You tell her that she’s worthless

That she needs to step it up

If she want to have your love

She’ll have to drink this bitter cup

You build her up then tear her down

Just to satisfy your need

As you're ripping her to pieces

You see her heart begins to bleed

She can't stand it anymore

But she knows there’s no way out

She's pledged herself to this

And now there’s no room left for doubt

With every day that passes by

She feels her mind slipping away

As she tries so hard to fight

And keep the hurt she feels at bay

There’s no use dwelling on her pain

There's no bridging this division

Doomed to live this way forever

She's locked inside your prison

A very powerful and strong poem. It is difficult to break out of a prison. The story was sad. But very hard to change a person view in their own life. A excellent poem.

This is incredible. The flow was off a little, but still very good. Great job! :D
