War Of The Night (part 2)A Poem by A.Leepart twoThe light streams through her window As she opens up her eyes Once again she made it through She stands up looks around Sees the scratches in the wall The places where her nails dug deep While she was trying not to fall Her eyes feel swollen to the touch From the tears she shed last night But she shakes it off and prays in thanks That she didn’t lose the light Today she will do better She makes a silent vow She’ll build a wall so strong, so high The dark won’t hurt her now But when the night begins to fall And rears its head again She learns no wall is high enough To save her from this pain And stores it in her heart Although she won't win every fight She won't be torn apart © 2010 A.LeeAuthor's Note
