Fading

Fading

A Poem by A.Lee

Do you feel me?

When I touch your arm?

When I reach to pull you close?

Do you see me?

As I stand before you

Hands waving before your eyes?

Am I real?

These thoughts I’m thinking
Are they really even mine?

Am I whole?

Or is part of me missing?

Some little piece I cannot find?

Do you hear me?

When I speak your name?

When I tell you to hold me tight?

Or am I fading, slowly fading

In the warm, dark depth of the night?

I like it, how it flows from line to line. The message is one that I think we all share at one point or another.

I like the motif used here. I think we have all felt this way...kind of like we were a ghost. The real question is are you invisible or is the person you're talking to incoherent?

I like this poem very much. I think we have all had that "fading" feeling, even if ever so briefly. Sometimes, it gets so bad that we are sure that we have, simply, disappeared. I think you have written this thought quite well. Often, I was write about thinking about thinking, if you know what I mean. This poem is special and nothing short of spectacular!
