Sweet Baby BoyA Poem by A.Leefor my sonI walked into the room one day To catch you coyly grinning my way My phone you held in your little hand Into puppy’s water dish I watched it land Then to the potty I sent you to sit Turning my back for just a bit I spin around, poke my head through the door Now nothing but tissues cover the floor I took you outside, such a nice warm spring day I was sure you’d be good if I left you to play It was time to come in after almost an hour And you smile at me… With a mouthful of flowers The sun starts to set and I put you to bed Fluffing the pillow to lay ‘neath your head I sigh as I think of the day that we had Busy and frustrating, though not horribly bad You look up at me as I turn out the light “I love you, mommy. See you later. Good night.” Even as I walk out I trip over your toy But it’s perfectly fine, you’re my sweet baby boy -For my beautiful little boy- © 2010 A.LeeReviews
