China Doll

China Doll

A Poem by A.Lee

China Doll

China doll with rosy cheeks

With a bright glass smile and dark eyelashes

Everyone thinks you're beautiful

With you they love to play

You're precious… cherished… loved…

But if someday you happen to fall

To slip from your throne on the mantelpiece

Who will love you then?

Your porcelain face is now a broken smile and broken honey eyes

And maybe this time you can't be fixed

So they place you on a shelf down low

Protect you from any chance of danger

But now you're all alone

All the fun and adventure is gone

No longer will they play with you

For fear you'll break again

Beautiful little china doll

When will you be strong?

Turn your porcelain into stainless steel

Your fragile frame to strength

Be able to fall and not be crushed

Stand up and walk again

No one will worry over you

When you're a china doll no more

This one is definitely more than just about China Doll. It's another version of a story of wearing a mask. This one is really brilliant. To me, it is a description - a metaphor - of human's in and out personality. Great great job..
