Watching

Just watching is the hardest thing to do.

Watching someone lose their way,

Just watching,

Is the hardest thing ever.

 

To know there is nothing you can do,

That all you can do is smile,

And tell them it will be okay.

 

You want to give them everything,

To whisper sweet things in their ear.

You want to take the pain away.

 

But it’s so hard to watch them fall apart.

But you just smile,

You can’t let them see you cry.

 

If you break down,

They know hope is lost.

And they will topple down.

 

They will be lost in the darkness,

Without a single light.

Then there is no turning back.

 

So you just watch,

Because there is nothing you can do,

But hope for the best.
