Carson get's to know all of Stephan's brothers.

Alexander was lying on the sofa, with an arm over his eyes. He was remembering what had happened last night. He had walked Carson home, and answered her questions. Not long he told her about the types of vampires they reached her house. Alexander had stuck around outside just to make sure everything was fine, plus he really didn’t want to go home. He headed home not long after her parents scolded her on coming home so late.

He was startled when he heard the doorbell ring. He must have been so lost in thought that he hadn’t heard anyone walk up to the door. In a flash he got off of the sofa and was at the door. When he opened it he was surprised to see Carson standing there. She looked a little fidgety. It didn’t go unnoticed that she had a huge backpack on her back.

“That wasn’t a dream was it?” She asked with uncertainty.

He didn’t answer her, he was sure she already knew. “Why are you here?”

Carson brushed past him, entering the house. “I’m just making sure before I set everything straight before I…” Her voice trailed off.

“What’s the backpack for?” He changed the subject.

She crossed her arms and looked around the room. Alexander didn’t really notice until now that she was trying to avoid eye contact with him. “I ran away.” She paused to explain, “Well not yet. I still need to mail my letters first.”

“And where are you going exactly?” Stephan had appeared. Alexander wasn’t surprised to see him show up. After all it was just like him.

Carson again avoided eye contact by looking down at her feet. It was easy to tell that she was a lot less comfortable with Stephan here. She quietly said, “I don’t know…”

“Then,” He said as he was suddenly behind her, pulling her long brown hair to the side to expose her neck, “I could kill you now, if you would like.”

Carson shuddered. She couldn’t help but think how disturbed he was. She gathered up all of her courage and turned around staring him down with hate filled eyes. “You promised one week and one week is what I will get. I might be running way, but that doesn’t mean I have finished setting everything straight.” She paused and took a deep breath, “And just because you happen to be a True blood doesn’t mean you can do whatever you want.”

Alexander tensed up. Was she trying to get herself killed? She surely would be if she keeps this up. The last person who talked to him like that was a False blood, and that ended up in complete bloodshed.

Stephan let out a low angelic laugh to Alexander’s surprise. “What an amusing little girl. I almost forgot why I kept you alive in the first place. Now I remember it was because of that mouth of yours.”

“So?” Carson questioned in a demanding tone. She wasn’t going to leave until she made sure he was going to keep his promise.

“Don’t worry,” He said. He wore smirk that would make any girl fall in love with him instantly. But it didn’t seem to have any effect on Carson. “I’ll keep my promise, but I’m not so sure you will keep your promise.”

“What! How dare-“

Stephan cut her off, “After all you are running away.”

Carson’s hands were now on her hips. She looked furious, “That doesn’t mean I won’t keep my promise!”

“How do we know you aren’t trying to escape your death?” Stephan reasoned. “After all, humans are so scared to die that they will do almost anything just to keep their lives.”

Carson glared hard at him. “So what do you want me to do then? And cause my family more pain then I would if I just disappeared and died out of my own recklessness? If I run away then they would blame me on my death. They wouldn’t be so sad if I die then.”

Alexander just stood by and watched while Stephan sighed, “So noisy.” He rubbed his temples like he had a headache. “Fine, I’ll let you run away, but you will stay here, so you won’t escape.”

Carson sighed, “It doesn’t sound like I have much of a choice then.” She knew she wouldn’t be able to get out of this. She didn’t want to hurt her family any more then she had to. “So what are you going to do with me? Lock me in your dungeon?”

Alexander, who had been quietly watching, spoke up, “What did I tell you about assuming things about vampires?” Carson just shot him a dirty look.

Stephan chuckled once again, “No, you will have the guest room.” He paused leaning forward. “I’m not completely heartless after all.”

“Could have fooled me.” She muttered under her breath.

Hearing what she said Stephan questioned, “What was that?” Of course he heard her perfectly.

“I said, where’s the room?” Carson lied.

He smirked and said, “It’s up the stairs and the 6th door on your right.”

“If you will excuse me, I will check it out then.” She paused, “That is if you don’t mind.” She just really wanted to get away from him. Carson wondered if she would actually be able to stay here for a whole week. She came to the conclusion that she would probably just go mentally insane first. Stephan stepped out of the way, indicating that she could go. Carson disappeared as quickly as she could.

“What are you playing at Stephan?” Alexander growled at him. He didn’t understand why he was keeping her alive. This wasn’t like him at all.

Stephan smirked, “It’s fun isn’t it? Such an interesting girl to play with.” He started to think out loud. Although it was painfully obvious that Alexander was intended to hear. “I wonder what she will do next.”

Alexander felt the anger swell up inside of him. His brother was unbelievable. How in the world had he lived with him for over a hundred years?! “You need to stop this Stephan!”

He raised an eyebrow in amusement, “Is someone starting to become attached to that little girl?” He narrowed his eyes and his voice became harsher, “You know that won’t end well Alexander.”

He was just about to reply to his brother when they heard a shrill scream from upstairs. And in an instant they were there just inside the door of the guest room. Carson was standing there. It hadn’t looked like she had gotten too far into the room before she screamed. Alexander scanned the room. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary, but there on the bed lounged his younger brother, Jason.

Jason looked up from his book that he was reading with a blank expression. He shifted his eyes from his brothers to Carson and back again. Finally he poke in a monotone voice, “Who is she?”

Stephan smiled and introduced them, “Jason this is Carson. Carson this is my younger brother Jason.”

Jason greeted in his monotone voice, “How’s it going."

Stephan continued, “You might have recognized him from school. I believe he’s a year younger than you.”

Jason’s dark lifeless eyes held her gaze. He had a plain face, which made his coal black eyes and hair stand out even more against his pale skin. Without even knowing that he was related to Alexander and Stephan she could already tell that he was a vampire. Jason switched his gaze to Stephan. “Brother,” His voice had a faint hint of amusement in it, “This wouldn’t happen to be the takeout I ordered would it?”

“What’s going on?” A young tired voice was heard. Carson turned around to see an adorable little boy with curly golden locks, who looked like he had just woken up. The boy didn’t look much older than 6 years old. “Who is she? Is she one of your friends?” The little boy asked now seemed much more awake and energetic.

Stephan squatted down to be eye level with the boy. “Collin, this is Carson. She has agreed to become our food in one week’s time.”

Collin looked at her for a while with innocent eyes. Finally he said, “She seems like such a nice lady.” He walked over to her and pulled at her jeans. “Excuse me missy Carson. Would you be my friend before you get eated?” Collin smiled up at her.

Carson looked down at the little boy, who had a goofy grin on his face. He looked to cute and precious that she didn’t know if she could say no to him. Finally she sighed, “Sure kid, why not?”

Collin jumped up and down. Now he had a huge grin plastered all over his face. “Did you hear that Uncle Alex!” He yelled as he ran over to Alexander.

It took Carson a moment to realize what was just said. When she finally registered it she was stunned. ‘Did she just say Uncle?’ she thought. Instantly she looked back and forth between Jason and Stephan.

To me this chapter seemed a little funny to me at the first. I can't put my finger on it though.
