Until We Meet

Until We Meet

A Poem by Charlène Boutin
"

A poem I wrote on my lunch break at work.

"

Separated by a sheet of glass

Silver dreams I have, alas

I shall not cross until time comes

I shall not cross the glass.

Our duties sway,

Guide us this way,

And here we shall behave;

But I cannot hide what I crave.

I spy through the sheet

Your gaze I will meet

Its shine will illuminate

Every path of my fate

Guiding this road,

Marking this road.

And on my side of the glass

I await the day you will pass

Onto my side, and we'll be free

To be what we should be.

Charlène Boutin
I wrote this while looking through the glass window of the staff room during my lunchbreak; seeing my love on duty, watching the pool, while I was so close yet so far away from him inspired this poem.

There is such a beautiful sense of the now and not yet in your words... looking yet being beyond touch... separated yet together. This is a wonderful write, and I love the story behind it!
