A Stranger Below the StarsA Poem by Charlène BoutinThe story of how I met my love, Yanick....The moon was beaming in the pitch black sky The stars were shining in a soft, bright sigh But there shone something brighter than these nightly treasures T'was the eyes of this stranger that twinkled with pleasure We weren't alone, yet he stood from the crowd Seeing him made my heart float on a cloud There was something about his face That made him glow with original grace
From his lips came the words and the smile That erased from the night everything that was vile A net of sensations landed right on my heart A prison of emotions gave my love a start And before I knew what had happened to me Everyone left for the night to start Before I could begin to see clearly Away we drove right in the city's heart
The vehicule advanced on the roads of night The moon and the stars kept on glowing so bright The voice of the stranger continued to flow I was in love; how was he to know? My eyes couldn't drift far away from his face My heart kept beating at a dangerous pace Often our gaze would cross on their way Silence died; there was always something to say
I met a stranger below the stars This stranger on my heart has left a scar He has a voice that soothes my heart A smile that gives my breath a start His kiss is soft as silk and wool His words could capture even a fool His eyes are stars into the night HIs embrace makes everything wrong go right... © 2009 Charlène Boutin |
