Just Words

Just Words

A Poem by Charlène Boutin
"

When it comes to love, words don't matter...

"

I love you...

I love you "with all of my heart", I love you "greatly", "more than anything in the world"

I love you "more than myself", my love for you is "greater than the Gods"...

If you ever hear me speak this way, slap me.

If you ever surprise me describing my love to you like this, punish me.

These words are anchors weighing down on the truth

Sinking it to the bottom of the lake of emotion

I don't want to drown you, my love...

I don't want to lie to you, my love...

"I love you", pure and complete

Needs no fancy ribbons to hide its true face

"I love you" means everything more

Than any other sweet word.

Understand that I do not love you "greatly"

Or "Forever, baby"

Or any other way,

The three words that express my true feeling

Are more powerful than any fancy fake...

The theme of this writing comes from the song "Je t'aime tout court"- a very beautiful song indeed for people who understand enough french.

Such an honest, introspective write... And yes, may these words take on their most profound meaning, deep and powerful... perhaps the most powerful words in any language... Wonderful write...

Very profound... the words I love you are the only words you need and of coarse the actions to back it up... just like those simple words little gesture to show that person means to you is the way to keep love alive... Nicely written.

There's more to this world than we see. Artists are gifted with the vision of this world, and can bring forward these visions to others. The world I see goes beyond my eyes, beyond my own life. I hop.. more..
