Sliver of Time

Sliver of Time

A Poem by Charlène Boutin
"

We are vulnerable to time and its real meaning...

"

Existence as we know it means nothing.

Existence of the world we live in means nothing.

What if everything was but a sliver of time,

A semi second to another being in this world?

I close my eyes and see the black

Another sliver of time has gone by.

To death I want the flow of time hacked

The thought of the wish has let another sliver of time go by.

In this instant that time only can tell

In the spark of a blink of an eye

Thousands of beings that on this planet dwell

May live or suffer or laugh or die.

How many shards of time will I lose

For all the times that I have shut my vision?

How many shards of time will everyone lose

Before making their live's decision?

I savour every spark of time

Every sliver of infinity.

I bite into the ringing chime

Of the existence that was granted to me.

Deeply existential, flowing like a fast moving stream, rippling across space and time... Your brilliant words so profoundly inspire the essence of our lives, of life itself, so chained by time and yet so free to choose according to our will. Amazing write!

There's more to this world than we see. Artists are gifted with the vision of this world, and can bring forward these visions to others. The world I see goes beyond my eyes, beyond my own life. I hop.. more..
