The Spyglass

The Spyglass

A Poem by Charlène Boutin
"

Your reflection is not what it used to be...

"

Your reflection in my spyglass is distorted

It feels as if my vision has faltered...

Your silver dreams, faded to grey

Your stone determination, molten to clay

Your blooming hope, its petals fallen

The eyes you wear have lost their heaven

The warm blood pumping through your veins

Now blue and ice cold it remains

Visions of your deep despair

Electrifies the dirty air...

Sad is the truth of what I see

For the spyglass has shown me clearly

You have changed, I can feel it

The lantern of your heart is no longer lit.

So beautiful, yet so bittersweet... Oh, just a powerful expression of love lost and the pain of drifting apart... Amazing reflection...

About
There's more to this world than we see. Artists are gifted with the vision of this world, and can bring forward these visions to others. The world I see goes beyond my eyes, beyond my own life. I hop.. more..
