People and Sidewalks

People and Sidewalks

A Story by Charlène Boutin
"

These are words I have spoken to my friend when he was in need. I have changed them a bit to make it more... entertaining.

"

     Existence is a strange thing.

In every kingdom of any possible existing thing, there is but one important and respected law occuring naturally- the law of the strongest, or the law of life. You may be thinking, "Every existing thing? Objects don't exist that way." But of course they do. Take, for instance, a pencil- the weak pencil, who is not strong enough to hold itself together, will not be chosen if going against a stronger pencil which works better.

And the same law applies to us humans.

Every individual owns his life to live and protect, to work for and cherish, or, if they choose to do so, waste and leave to rot. There are two types of human beings: the ones who walk, and the sidewalks.

The ones who walk are successful with themselves, and know what they want. They are ready to take down their enemies to reach for their goals. They are ready to make sacrifices to reach the happiness that was destined to them. They will do anything, destroy anyone, to get to this point. They may want the good of others, or want to put down anyone in sight, but the point is that they will be ready to do anything to accomplish their dreams. They see hope.

The sidewalks, on the contrary, do not walk; they are stepped upon by the ones who walk. They do not fight and are easily put down by the ones around them, and will not be ready to crush their enemies to reach for their goals. For them, there is no hope; they just await their cruel fates as they are stepped upon.

Sidewalks, rise to power; seize your opportunity at taking a glimpse at this precious thing called 'hope'. Do what you have to do to rise up and walk upon the ones who have walked on you; crack your pavement, make your enemies trip and bleed, destroy their bones and make them shed tears of sorrow. Take a handful of hope and pull yourself up with it to stand and walk upon your fallen foe.

You see, you cannot judge one who has walked upon you without meaning any harm; they were only trying to accomplish what they've wanted. You must in turn defend yourself, for this is the game of life, and there is no turning back allowed. It is the law of the strongest.

Powerful metaphor! Bon repas doit commencer par la faim. We must first hunger for more before we will seek out change. Your words will hopefully inspire others to move up from indifference to hope. I know that your life will do that as well, for you are an inspiration...

you wouldnt really want to be either a wallker or a sidewalker
cause if you were a walker that would mean you would have to step on a few people along the way, and that doesnt feel right, and you wouldnt want to be a sidewalker cause then you have no choice but to be walked on.. is there no happy medium with those who want to be successful but dont want to tread on others??

There's more to this world than we see. Artists are gifted with the vision of this world, and can bring forward these visions to others. The world I see goes beyond my eyes, beyond my own life. I hop.. more..
