Free VisionsA Poem by Charlène BoutinWhen I close my eyes, this is what I see.Darkness. Darkness seeps through the pores of my mind, invading the room that is the inside of my head. There I see the flow of time, endless time, meaningless time. Light flows inside and stains the endless veil of black that covers the walls of my mind like tapestry; a moth, wings of pure light and serenity, flaps its wings freely and guards my visions. A flash of blue and violet appears and disappears, representing my sanity. Lines of white line run across the field of sight I have in my head- they surround me like a cucoon, keeping me safe from the dangers of the darkness invading my thoughts. A snake of fear slithers, its yellow eyes glowing with rage as it rampages through my mind- it eats the light and lets in more stains of the dark. But yet another gust of light pours in through an entrance that was forged by hope. © 2008 Charlène BoutinAuthor's Note
