Wintery Heat

Wintery Heat

A Poem by Charlène Boutin
"

:)

"
A blanket of white has envelopped the land
The era of quiet and cold is at hand
And among the particles of empty space
Beyond everything, all I see is your face
I am child of the sun, a creature of fire
The warmth of your heart is all that I desire
This blanket of white should extinguish my flame
But despite it, I will survive all the same
The light of your eyes, visible through the mist
Will break through the ice like an avenging fist
Your powerful heart, your blistering skin
Are hot enough to let me melt from within
You are my shelter, here love and safety meet;
My one and only, my wintery heat

You have always had such an emotive passion in your writing, and this truly does melt away the sting of winter's chill. Beautiful and moving in every way, Charlene.. you don't simply write poetry.. you are poetry.

I liked the idea of Wintery Heat. The contrast always creates a strong and clearer impact. Each complements the other.

Fire and ice, within and without. And even in winter your words speak of summer's heat. A beautiful blend of all that makes passion so worthwhile.

There's more to this world than we see. Artists are gifted with the vision of this world, and can bring forward these visions to others. The world I see goes beyond my eyes, beyond my own life. I hop.. more..
