A Terrible Word

A Terrible Word

A Poem by Charlène Boutin

The numbness of the skin
After a fire has burned through
After the winds have turned around
It stings more than any pain

Unconditional love
Ripped through to the edges
And rotten, falling away
By despicable hate

Questions, questions,
Like lashes in my skin
Bleeding upon the past
These will never heal

Shining eyes of innocence
Slit open, left open,
Leaking putrid thoughts and words
That throw me in a void

Deception, confusion
From my own blood
Cunning lies of her mind
Leave me breathless, dying

About
There's more to this world than we see. Artists are gifted with the vision of this world, and can bring forward these visions to others. The world I see goes beyond my eyes, beyond my own life. I hop.. more..
