riddle poem for english class

A Poem by c4ssiopeia
"

this is the very first poem i've ever written, from a few months ago in a writing course i took in uni. very fun experience, and i'm pretty proud of the start

"

She’s an older woman, taller than I am.

Brightest sight in January,

sweetest scent of spring.

Long limbs like weathered leather, but

always carefully manicured.

She holds a champagne bottle

parasol

that rustles in the breeze.

Sometimes a nuisance, but kinder than I am.

Dropping Spanish gold into the streets,

only for it to be kicked around.

Her knobbly labor is opened up

and easily pulled apart into

pure honeyed segments.

She lends me her parasol

on our summer afternoon strolls.

I miss her when she leaves.

Her shoes are still there in the grass.
