Admonishment for life

Come on lad; hasten and sit by my side that a mother’s parting words might admonish you. All men are journeymen that travel the earth so hinge not thy hopes on the physician’s sweat-for the world is not my home to stay.

As I ebb towards this inevitable dusk, I shudder for you that be left in a world with more wrong than good. So when the sheet is rolled over my face and I am wheeled to the cold, my words you must hold sacred that they may illuminate your path.

A good name always outlasts riches so aim for the former. Cultivate peace that you may savour same when your bones age. Stink of confidence for it will fuel your high hopes and with your back against the wall, never surrender it.

In disillusionment, find, open and embrace the Holy Writ for it is the compass that guarantees a life well spent. Dread sin for it kills before death, and when all men troop to the left, hold fast to the right.
