Tonight.

That night

The dark navy sky encloses our precious world

Stars shine bright to give us hope

The man in the moon is smiling tonight

 

Our eyes are captured by the beauty of darkness

Our body freezes to study the wonders of our world

We wonder its vastness in search of our answer

 

In a field we lay together, fitting like a puzzle

The warmth is chilling against our engaged skin

We are floating

 

Hand in hand we lay

Taking in each other breathes

As if it is our own

 

My mind wonders through the stars in search of your thoughts

I hold your hand tighter to make sure this is not a dream

I’m still floating

 

You roll over and swallow my sight in your deep oceans of eyes

I cannot help but be helpless in your touch

My body is taken over by the incessant butterflies

 

They flutter in my stomach, mind, and heart

In this field we lay together, hand in hand

My mind wondering through the stars for your thoughts

In parallel to your deep oceans of eyes holding my sight.

 

I am yours tonight.
