True(ly) Promises.A Poem by C.J.G.Those promises...
He promises me promises worth gold,
Even diamonds. He tells me tales of pure beauty, Even glory. He gives gifts that take up my entire world, Even his. These promises of gold are sincere, Until he decides they are too valuable to give away. These tales of beauty are of the utmost magnificence, Until the ugly truth slips out of his deceitful lips. These gifts that encompass my entire world are of such magnitude, Until their real size is exposed through his deceptive eyes. If only his sincerity was truly sincere. If only his value was truly valuable. If only his magnificence was truly magnificent. And if only his entire world Included me.
