My (Imaginary) (Best)friend

My (Imaginary) (Best)friend

A Poem by C.J.G.
"

I just miss him. Whoever he is.

"

He lit up rooms,

He widen smiles,

He brightened eyes,

He shined greater than any star

I have ever seen.

He was love in a lost soul,

He was happiness in a permanent frown,

He was laughter in every tear,

He was the twinkle is every eye,

Especially in mine.

They say you never know what you have

Until it is gone.

All I had is now

Gone

Forever to me.

I cry in sadness of loss,

I frown in anger of ingratitude,

I shiver in my naïve mind,

I shake my head in disappointment

Of myself.

I don't quite get if you are referring to losing an actual friend or just an imaginary friend. Either way, I think the ambiguity adds flavor to your poem and make it something interesting. You've achieved the sad yet melodic tune that poetry like this should have.

Keep Writing. ^___^

Well done. Too often poems describing a loved one carry on too long. They may flatter the one who they are written for, but are hard for the rest of us to stick with. This one did not do that. Nice work.
