My FatherA Poem by Matt M.Tribute to my Father who was always there for meMy Father What do you mean you don't know? Huh? Come on answer me That's not the answer for me and it wont work You hit me across the head but its rightfully deserved Go back to your room you yell And think about what you've done I always thought you were picking on me Trying to belittle me But that was years ago I know you meant no harm I was reckless as a kid Never really cared Never respected you Not until I fucked up It was then I needed you the most At that time you were right there By my side Always there Always guiding me to do the right thing But I plainly ignored I was never bad at the heart I was just confused and immature Again though you were always there It wasn't until high school When my mind was finally freed I saw what you were trying to do for me You were trying to raise a proper man Someone who would be respected Someone who could always be counted on When I finally found out My respect for you grew Here I am now A young adult alone by himself And ive done everything you've taught up until now I wish I could go back And change my ways of how I felt about you but that Would be wrong I wouldn't be the man today without you So all that's left to say is Thank you For being my Father and always being there © 2018 Matt M.Author's Note
