Cupped Hands

Cupped Hands

A Poem by Mary E Green

Tears, liquid pain in every drop-they do not seem to want to stop.  There is no going back from whence they come. Caressing the arch of your nose and kissing your chin as they fall.  Silently drifting, yet the most powerful lanuage of them all.

A generous escape from the turmoil within, you discover sweet relief in this surrender.  Your will bows to the strength that has been preserved for far too long.

With this release, your lips part softly and a breath too escapes.  You have let it go and it is no longer yours to protect.  Indeed, these cascading tears have been recieved into the cupped hands of life and graciously taken away.

It's amazing how perfect our bodies were made. No detail left out, not even the tear ducts were overlooked. Great piece!

Thank you... I am now.... :O)
I had one of these recently...a "good cry"...I find comfort in the image of life taking these tears away - back to their source for this is part of life for any human (even some animals). Hope your next cry- this image helps you find comfort too.
