Flight

Flight

A Poem by Mary E Green

Gliding above the cares of the world, silouetted against the expansive beauty beyond, yet still immersed within nature's enveloping canopy.  Among the drifting clouds, the stars- the beacons of the universe-even still welcomed to fly before the teasing colors of a rainbow. Navigating amongst the raindrops.  With ease you fly amongst the beauties of these two worlds, the one within and the one beyond. Your song the choir of the divine, all the while finding rest within the stillness of the forest. Do you fly with the wings of the angels?  It is no wonder you spread your wings trusting the wind to guide you and soar to such heights.

How blessed is your flight.

Would love some feedback! Thanks! Could not find the "word" to describe the canopy- any thoughts?

Thank you Kevin! Be well...
Beautiful! I especially loved the line about the stars being the "beacons of the universe". Instead of enveloping maybe maternal? I like to write lists of words that seem like a fit even if they aren't just based on how they sound. This helps and I use a thesaurus a lot when I'm looking for a word that is on the tip of my tongue or when I'm trying to find something synonymous or slightly synonymous to the word that doesn't feel right.
