A Poem by Bethany Wong

Softness
Smooth skin
There, at the join of your neck to your jaw
There’s a flesh I have to touch -
A flesh I want to kiss, and bite.
I know it’ll make you gasp, and squirm, and protest
But I’ll know you want it
By the way you tilt your head away to show me
The marks I’ve made there,
By the way you’ll arch into my hands,
Though they barely touch you,
And by the way your hands will clutch at me
As if you’ll never let go
As if you’re falling.
Then I’ll know you’re mine, whatever you may faintly say,
And you’ll whisper my name in my ear
And make me shiver the way
You know you always can.
Just for revenge
Because I can melt your defences and claim your body
Whenever I want
But you can steal my heart, and soul, and breath
With the merest look,
And you know it.
