I'm still here

I'm still here

A Poem by Bystander

There are moments each day I think of you.

Flashes.

Your face, your body, your smell, your touch, your taste.

I think of my hand on your neck as you'd push into my palm
wanting to feel the pressure and fear. Wanting to feel anything.

The smile on your face when you'd get what you want.
Laid flat on the floor, breathing heavy.
Watching the worst version of me have you.

The sharp words from your mouth cutting into my flesh.
Flipping back and forth from sweet epithets to soulless lust.

The patience, knowing I would give in.

The vengence when I wouldn't.

I think of the monster I was with you and
the joy you had teasing him out.

I asked for space. For you to let me be. You did.

You are half of me and still own all of me.

Come find me and crush me again.
