A Walk With GodA Story by ByroneusA Walk with God One day I was thinking about if God were to come down to earth and walk with me; where would we go, what would he shows me, what lessons would he bring? The more I thought about this walk the more revelations the Lord gave me. First where would we go? Most people, and myself included would think he would take you places like the Grand Canyon, or the Great Barrier Reef. We think he would take us these places to show us his mighty power and glory, but the more I thought about it the more I thought, no he wouldn’t take me to these places. I believe that if God were to take me on a walk he would take me to my backyard, or down the road to one of the ponds, and maybe he would even take me out of the forest and into the city. I asked myself why he would take me these places. The Lord would take me to these places for many reasons. In my backyard he would show me a small flower in bloom, and a honey bee pollinating it. At the pond he would show me all the small frogs, and insects that live there, and in the city he would show me all the people that are there. As I thought of all of these things he would show me on this walk I then asked why, why would he show me these things, and what lesson was there to be learned? You may be asking the same question, why would I believe that he would take me to these lest then grand and far from great places. At the flower I believe that God is showing me how he is great in the small things; he takes care of the flower and pollinates it with the bee which he is also taking care of. Neither the bee nor the flower worry about food or their other necessities, and this is something we can learn from. When God takes me to the pond he shows me that these small animals live in a giant world to them yet in reality it is very small, but it is their only concern, they never try to grow out of this world or move into a better place. To the frogs the pond is a giant sea and yet they have never seen the great lakes or the giant oceans. We can learn from them to only live in the small world that God has placed us in and he has made the great and the small all alike with a plan in mind. Last when he takes me to the city where all the people are, it is here that I truly see God and his power. People say it is easy to see his power in the Grand Canyon and the Great Barrier Reef, but they don’t see it in the city. They don’t see the power he shows in helping every individual and carrying for them even if they don’t believe or trust in him, they don’t see his power in love that he shows through others, or his power of forgiveness when someone does a wrong. He shows me that in the city you can see his compassion, and want for others to follow and believe in him. The more I think about this walk the more I realize that he is walking with me even now, and he always will be. © 2014 Byroneus |
