Wild NatureA Story by ByroneusWild Nature In My life I have been too many beautiful places from most of northern Minnesota on up to Alaska. At most of these places, I like most people before and after me, have taken pictures of the scene. Yet after I leave these wild places and go home to see what I have for pictures, I find the same thing in all of them, there is something missing. What is this thing that is missing? In each picture I miss the wild. The wild is many things; it is the crisp air in the mountains, the fresh forest smell after a rain, bright lively colors in the fall, sound of creatures in the wilderness, as well as many other things. As hard as I try I can never seem to capture this, yet no one else seems to be able either. This wild is what causes me to go to these places, and to return to some of them more than once. The wild is why many people go to those places. Yet there are many who never go to them and never will. These people only see these places in pictures; these people see them but never actually experience the place. The people who do go to these places and take pictures go trying to capture the wild but they know as I do that you never will and that the only thing you can capture in a picture is the memory of the place. Knowing that they won’t capture the wild won’t stop others or myself from taking pictures but it is what keeps drawing us out to these places. As time goes on these wild places in nature are slowly disappearing, they are being built on by people who want to live near them, and yet more and more people build there and soon there will be no wild left in the land, no fresh smells or beautiful fall colors, and the only thing that will be left of this wild, will be the memory in a picture. I hope that we will protect some of these places and keep the wild in them. I also hope that you will not just be one of those people who see these places in a picture only but will also go to them and experience them, there are many secrets in these places that have never been captured in a picture and you must see for yourself. I challenge you to go out and see these places and experience the wild nature. © 2014 Byroneus |
