To My Friends

To My Friends

A Poem by Ray Hamilton
"

Poetry plea for understanding

"

Someone To Watch Over Me midi

To My Friends

Recently I have been told
my poetry shows I have a bad mentality
But I'm just trying to be me

I'm sorry if I have offended some
although I honestly don't know how
With me,
what you see is what you get
I write my poetry with no regrets

If I have offended you in some way
Please don't be afraid to say
Naive I very well may be
For I honestly do not see
How my poetry could offend
Any of my precious friends

I am and have never been a sneak
In my poetry my life you get a peek
If I have a bad mentality
Please tell me how this could be
Honestly I can not see
that I have a bad mentality

I stay in my own little group of friends
On their reviews I do depend
I do not see how I could offend
I always try my best to do good
Although in the past my intentions
have been misunderstood

There is no halo upon my head
of this I do know
But there are no horns either
or I would let them show
For I am just me
What you see is what you get
I say this with no regret
For I'm just trying to be myself
I have never lived my life in stealth

Yes, this is very pure. There is rythm, the flow is smooth and the words are quite compelling. This was a pleasure to read. Thank you Ray.

Now I like this, it shows honesty and truth, This is well spoken I throughly enjoyed your words here. Keep on writing if it offends soomoene
they shouldn't have it to begin with. You know who you are stand true to that.....Kim

I am so sorry to read your words because it seems that someone has taken it upon themselves to be deliberately hurtful.
This is the first I have had the opportunity to read you except for the very funny collaboration that you and Donna did on beans.

Blessings,
Lesa

Hi Ray! It is really good to see you back. From all that I have ever read from you, I see no way how you could have offended anyone. Your poems are always so beautiful. And, in no way offensive, that I have seen. You just keep your beautiful poems coming. And, we will all be here to read tehm.

You tell it like it is....it's good to get ones own point of view as well.
Good for you Ray.

Oh my precious sweet friend. I sit here in tears knowing first of all you have left this site because of the jealiousy or just plain vile meaness of another and the knowledge of that takes me from tears of hurt to tears of anger. You wrote me about a woman that was once again harassing you and shamefully I, wraped up in my own turmoil, was not here for one of my dearest friends and man that I have such high respect for. I am at a loss of so much more than words right now. Ray I dont know if you will ever see this or not but I have no idea what you could have written that offended anyone and if it did then maybe they need to look in the mirror to see just what they read applied to them where they need to make changes.... If you do read this my dear friend please contact me . You have my email.
Hugs and Love U Bunches
D
PS This was as always very well written...

Hmmm... I feel like I have read this before - or at least the sentiment.
As long as you write the way you want then it doesn't matter if it offends. Sometimes it is even better if it does.
If anyone tries to write poetry that is not really their own it will never be as strong as what comes naturally.
And for once I didn't even mind the song :)

Hun-n-n-h! Sounds like someone in their head to me. Always take your poetry for what it is, and I enjoy your viewpoint.

One of the beauties of a writing sight should be to express ourselves. I say just keep on expressing yourself Ray. If others don't like it, they don't have to review. If they do, they will. It's that simple.

Love the touch here...they rhythm and rhyme is near perfection and the song and background is top of the line! :-) Carole
