Deception On The Internet

I can tell you I am
The spirit of King Tutt
Just in this odd mans
Body I am stuck

I can tell you
My mother is Queen of the nile
I sometimes visit her for awhile
But I am just plain Ray
{ Not a Poet }
I'm not afraid to show it
I am just trying to be me
Humorous man is what you see

Although I hide
My hurt feeling in my poetry
The real Ray is still who you see
There is no one else I want to be
I'm just trying to be me

I do not try to live a lie
Though some others do
I don't know why
Please take me for who I am
Or on your way out
Please don't let the door slam

Live your life the best you can
For life passes fast, like sifting sand
Before you know it life will be gone
There are no lies in the great beyond

There you will sing a different song
You will pay for the things you have done wrong
Your lying days are now done
There is no place you can run

Just be yourself
Good friends will except you
For who you really are
If a liar you are made out to be
Your heart will sure be in misery
I know the internet is a wonderful tool
But still you shouldn't play people for fools

I hope you like who I am
Just a plain and simple man
Honest and true is how I stand
I don't know any other way

I'm just plain simple Ray

My father always said
You can't believe anything you hear
and only half what you see
Some things on this internet
would have brought him to his knees

Excellent presentation. Your writing is clear and even in verse.

If a liar you are made out to be
Your heart will sure be in misery

No truer lines, the inernet a playground to play pretend.

Nice write.

Very true... if we are true to ourselves then we will be happy and as long as the people we love love us for who we are that is all that really matters
lovely poem Ray

You are correct. We have to be ourselves, and not be so naive to
believe everything. It's so easy to pretend on the Internet, and
it's hard not to get caught up in emotions, but it all boils down to
we have to think of ourselves. AD
