Deception On The Internet

I can tell you I am
The spirit of King Tutt
Just in this odd mans
Body I am stuck

I can tell you
My mother is Queen of the nile
I sometimes visit her for awhile
But I am just plain Ray
{ Not a Poet }
I'm not afraid to show it
I am just trying to be me
Humorous man is what you see

Although I hide
My hurt feeling in my poetry
The real Ray is still who you see
There is no one else I want to be
I'm just trying to be me

I do not try to live a lie
Though some others do
I don't know why
Please take me for who I am
Or on your way out
Please don't let the door slam

Live your life the best you can
For life passes fast, like sifting sand
Before you know it life will be gone
There are no lies in the great beyond

There you will sing a different song
You will pay for the things you have done wrong
Your lying days are now done
There is no place you can run

Just be yourself
Good friends will except you
For who you really are
If a liar you are made out to be
Your heart will sure be in misery
I know the internet is a wonderful tool
But still you shouldn't play people for fools

I hope you like who I am
Just a plain and simple man
Honest and true is how I stand
I don't know any other way

I'm just plain simple Ray

My father always said
You can't believe anything you hear
and only half what you see
Some things on this internet
would have brought him to his knees

Sweetie, we have gotten to know each other quite well in the time I have been here and a part of the Musketeers. I have found you to be exactly who you say you are to be (except when we are dueling with pens in hand. LOL) Would have you no other way. You are a talented writer and a joy and honor to call friend.

Hugs,
Lesa

Being yourself is no other way, dear friend. You've captured this quite well in this piece. Lies and deceit run rampant, especially online. But, you have the insight and awareness to know where and when to place your true friendship.

Brava!

Good morning Ray my new friend at the Writer's Cafe. I want to thank you once again for your kind Review I found this morning.

You have hit the mail exactly on the head in this write and your Father's quote is very sound words to live by especially when you
become a part of the Cyber World. I have been taken in by a few but I learn my lessons well.

I appreciate the time you take to read my work. I hope my pages don't take too long for you to load. I know that can be
really aggrivating.

Have a Blessed day and thank you again,
Lesa

Excellent!!

Woohoo! lol I love what you've done
with this... the poem is spot on and oh
so clever and true. The music (which
normally distracts me while I am reading)
is perfect, and non distracting.
The graphics/background is fantastic!
LOVE IT!

My mother always told me to be myself, because life is just to short to be someone else...and I try to live that everyday...Good write my friend...just remember don't judge too quickly!

Very true, Ray. I am just me. That is all I can be. Just a plain and simple lady. An honest and trustworthy person. That is all I can be. I have heard that saying that your father always told you, too. I like the plain and simple. No phoney's!
