Some people have asked this question of me
Why I'm { Not a Poet } you see

 

I know not the inner works; of this thing they call poetry
It just comes from deep within my heart, right out here to me

 

In the past I have spilled, my feelings into poetry
Just to be put down, and told you can't write you see

 

Well I never insisted I was a poet wannabe
I just have feelings like all the rest you see

 

To confess your love, can't be a sin
For it's my deepest feelings within

 

So now I just write my poetry anyway
Not caring what the others have to say

 

If like me you can not spell
I'm sure you have spell check as well

 

If deep feelings you have to write, for your heart to mend
Don't let others hold you back and put chains on your golden  pen

You couldnt of said it any better sir hamiltin, I was just telling my fiance how people like to explain what poetry is but those people are more blind than their decietful heart. That is great encouragement Ray. Keep up the great work of poetry you have written. And Ray you are a poet and I think we both know it

Here Here, never a true word was spoken.... who is to say what is and isn't poetry, Poetry comes in all different forms be it the written word or in pictures, i think you write beautifully and honestly...

Ah, thanks for the answers!
I think these are really the only reasons why anyone should write.
As long as you write for the right reasons that is all that matters; and I believe you do.
It is clear from your poems that you really have fun when you write and love the process - as long as that's true other peoples opinions don't mean anything.
