Three Strikes And Your Out

They say that three strikes and your out
In the game of baseball, there is no doubt
In marriage, if three strikes and your out
Then I'm finished, of this there is no doubt
Well in my case, one was really a walk
For she was just in love with the, - - - - - - - - - - Money

You thought I was going to say something else didn't you

We were married very young, was that so wrong
When a man came along with more money, she was soooo gone
Well that's the end, of that sad and very short song
So I think this marriage, was just a walk, so am I wrong

Well I may have another turn at the bat
In my mind I have one more strike, and that's that
I just have to watch what is pitched
For I don't want another, - - - - - - - - - - - strike

There you go again, get your mind out of the gutter,
I wasn't going to say the b word honest

I'm sure there's a nice girl, out there somewhere
If she's honest and trustworthy, that's all I care
Do I trust another woman, with my wounded heart
Sure, I have time, I'm still young, I'm not yet an old fart

No I wasn't asking your opinion, so don't start

My second wife, she gave me two wonderful sons
That may be where, all the trouble begun
Being a family man, I worked hard to support this bunch
When away she got lonely, started having a man in for lunch
Well you know the rest, it was time again for another heart crunch

I also was missing some socks, I guess nothing is truly your own
Hey,-- that may not be a strike either, sounds to me like a foul ball
Do I have two strikes left?

One walk and a foul ball, you tell me, its your call

Is my life on hold, or has love just stalled
I think I need to hit that ball, off the far back wall
You know a home run,
for I'm sure there's a lovely woman out there somewhere,
who will be true to me and give love her all

Funny how the mind, can justify things
I say s**t happens and you just have to deal with it

This is so funny but too seriously from the heart for me to laugh..think of this...if 48% of the U.S. is married and 52% isn't.
How many of those that are are on number 1,2, or 3...?????? The only way to find happiness is to self check what part you had to play in the losses and pick someone totallly different from those fouls..God bless..Valentine

Sounds like if this continues you might get stuck choking up on the bat so to speak. :) An delightful read although a tragic tale. Put together well as expected from you. Kudos to you. Maybe you should try another sport. Perhaps racquetball. I said ball, not balls. LOL

Not being a member of a baseball playing nation, I wouldn't know a home run from a custard tart. However, on the subject of tarts, I must admit to a little inside knowledge. Suffice it to say that I'm on my fourth time around, and that I finally found a good one - all custard and little tart! Twenty two years together, and we're finally getting married on the 9th August. (Well, after three duds you have to be certain before jumping into the mix again!) So, there's hope for everyone folks! Is that what you call a home run?

An interesting presentation and write. A great deal of emotion on display

A creative way to bring forth situations that most of us have had to deal with at one time or another

Very imaginative

When the heart is involved there are no outs, just runs batted in. I enjoyed this ditty very much. Made me smile all the way through. We are never to old to love. We just have to stop allowing others to pitch hit for us. Thats when we end up in trouble!

Fourth and one on the ten yard line
Punt? No way ... up the middle I go
Pushing ahead with the ball tucked inside
A full head of steam, I dive for the hole
Of course it was my own ten yard line
Only eighty nine more yards to go!

Fascinating! And very fun! I think you have the ability to get that home run buddy! Concentrate, this ball game is all yours! Very enjoyable read!

For what it is worth, the guy that my first wife left me for eventually left her----for-----are you ready for this? Another fella. Yeah, I think she lost the whole ballgame with that one. She's still unmarried.
