Redman

A Poem by Unclouded Eyes

Gazing into the sun with eyes wide open, looking

Accepting the gifts of living life freely, opening

Felling the heat, walking across the desert floor

Sharing shade with a family of coyotes, harmonies

Found playing on the wind by an open mind.

I am in the hand of the Great Spirit Father

Questing for understanding, the truth of existence

Smoking the Peace Pipe blessed by our shaman

Chewing the peyote bulbs to aid my visions

Searching, I am guided to my wholeness, my center.

Nature rewards my willingness to just be

By showing me the path for all men to understanding

Giving me the confidence to continue with life

Placing before me the scepter of knowledge

Enabling and lifting me with honor and pride, it’s who I am.

Imagery greets you in this verse... just translates with ease to the reader... the second stanza opens this and the third enhances the theme:

Enabling and lifting me with honor and pride, it’s who I am.
