~I Release YouA Poem by Katherine Wyatt
I release you~
With no anger or regrets Reluctant guardian for a moment Easy to forget Me~ I suppose I release you~ With prayers that you find all you left behind all that was your kind~ your kindred For I was not part of your pack Yet I observe my impact From a distance...with a slight laugh Although~ I never captured your soul (and if all honesty be laid bare- you never captured mine) We traveled the road together for a time Living together.....in different worlds And it was lovely and fine ....at the time....... And when you left I was in shock Yet in truth it was best for you to walk... away And you set me free to rebirth all that is me So, gratefully~ I release you With only fond memories..... My heart holds you hostage no longer You are free to wander With my prayers on the wind that you will re-find "home" And that it will not be empty and alone Unless that is what you desire My gratitude and blessings to your essence I release you... Now let us be done with all that was once required (c) KWL 2010 © 2010 Katherine WyattAuthor's Note
