~reflections upon the waters

~reflections upon the waters

A Poem by Katherine Wyatt

She is serpentine and extraordinary
she will tell you how beautiful she is
and she is..

They follow her
an entourage seeking spiritual connection
she creates space for them
limiting them without their consent,
choosing who is in her inner circles
telling them how beautiful they all are
but her tongue is split like her energy

She moves as a snake
mesmerized by her own reflection
she will make everyone’s reveries come true
if a nugget of gold with her name etched into it
weaves their dreams like the silver-grey shine within a cloud
she poses as the sun, a thousand suns
fractals of light creating sunbeams,
….ecstatic

Yet, only we can be our own light
that glorious sun
is our own radiance shining through a breaking amber sunset

… while she curls around a trees, hissing
The sun streams glorious across an ancient forest
I find myself there without her
having found my own light

I bless her with appreciation and gratitude
choosing to walk into my own glorious story

I hear the waters of a fresh pond stirring
she caresses her own reflection
she never noticed me, staring with adoration
at her own likeness in the waters

I am the song the trees whisper in the wind. I am the strength of the mighty mountains. I am the song of the birds in the morn. I am always being reborn. I am a traveler in and out of space and time... more..
